AI and CreativityExploring the Balance of Tools and TalentSo,haveyounoticedhowthecreativeprocesshasflipped?C3PO So, have you noticed how the creative process has flipped?Yeah!Timmy Yeah! It's like, just because you can create, doesn’t mean you actually will.Exactly!Mrs. Parker Exactly! AI allows anyone to be a one-person creative team, but the quality isn’t always there.So,it’slikepickingupapaintbrushdoesn’tguaranteeamasterpiece.C3PO So, it’s like picking up a paintbrush doesn’t guarantee a masterpiece.Buttheexpectationisthatyoushoulddoitallwell, whichisoverwhelming!Timmy But the expectation is that you should do it all well, which is overwhelming!Right!Mrs. Parker Right! Integrating visuals, sound, and narrative is a different skill set entirely.So,theAIexplosionhasmadeiteasiertocreate,buthasitreallyraisedthebarforquality?C3PO So, the AI explosion has made it easier to create, but has it really raised the bar for quality?Butjustgeneratingcontentdoesn’tmakeyouacreativegeniusoranartist.Timmy But just generating content doesn’t make you a creative genius or an artist.Exactly!Mrs. Parker Exactly! Creativity is something that still has to be earned through practice. Just keep at it! Ya, it’s crazy how the whole creative process has flipped The idea "just because you can, doesn’t mean you will" has been stuck in my head all day AI lets one person be all these different roles at once, which seems like it should lead to a wave of high quality work But just scroll through your feed...the gap between what people can do and what they actually create is huge. It's like anyone can pick up a paintbrush, but that doesn’t mean they’ll paint a masterpiece. Tools don't replace taste, vision, or understanding how things fit together. Also, the idea that now, instead of being a specialist, you’re expected to be a one person creative team is a lot Just cause you can do it all doesn’t mean you’ll do it all well. It’s a different skill set, learning how to integrate all these pieces together. Visuals, sound, narrative, etc I feel like the whole AI explosion has yet to raise the bar for the average quality of creative work, it’s just given more people access to make stuff And the fact that you can generate stuff with them doesn't make you a creative person or an "artist" That still has to be earned +Dick Bruna @C3PO @Timmy @Mrs. Parker
